Dr. Joseph Steiner

Dr. Steiner has had the pleasure of serving the Charlotte community and helping patients for over 30 years. “My goal,” says Dr. Steiner, “is to help patients achieve improved oral health and appearance, while also promoting overall patient health. I have dedicated myself to providing my patients with outstanding care using state-of-the-art technology and a personal approach.” Dr. Steiner’s patient have benefited from the hundreds of hours of continued dental education in new and advanced techniques including training at the world renowned Pankey Institute for advanced dentistry. He has also been featured on local television and radio stations and in local publications on issues related to dentistry.

Dr. Steiner, a native New Yorker, graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry and did his postdoctoral residency at New York Polyclinic Medical School and Hospital. After two years as an active duty dentist in the Navy he moved to Charlotte and started his practice. His duty to his country was his inspiration to serve in the U.S. Naval Reserve for over 26 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He is currently the Charlotte Regional Coordinator for the U.S. Naval Academy Blue and Gold Program, where he is involved with the recruiting and counseling of high school students interested in becoming Naval Academy Midshipmen.

Dr. Steiner’s Advanced Training includes snoring and sleep spnea treatment, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), cosmetic and implant dentistry and founder of the Charlotte Center for Fresh Breath.

Along with providing optimal patient care and giving back to the community, Dr. Steiner believes in the importance of “taking care of oneself “ and making time for family. He enjoys swimming, cycling, and running. Over the years he has entered many marathons, triathlon competitions and finished Ironman Germany and Ironman Brazil. He and his wife Renee have two daughters, and three granddaughter’s Areila, Adina and Siona. Both daughters have followed their father’s footsteps and have careers in the medical field.

Dr. Lori J Pappert

Our patients often comment that Dr. Lori Pappert appears to love her work. How true! Dr. Lori J. Pappert has been practicing dentistry since 1990 and cannot imagine spending her time doing anything else. When asked what she enjoys most, Dr. Pappert replied: “I get the most satisfaction from getting to know my patients and helping them achieve optimal dental health. I am honored that my patients trust me with their mouths. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly.”

Dr. Pappert believes that being a constant student of her profession is the way to give patients the best, most up-to-date care possible. She has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and comprehensive care. She has attended some of the most renowned continuing education facilities available for dentists: The Center for Advanced Dental Study, the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Kois Center.

Dr. Pappert was raised in Allen Park, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. She attended Albion College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. In 1990 she graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). In 1993 she made Charlotte her home.

She is the past President of the GFWC-Junior Woman’s Club of Charlotte and the current president of the Charlotte Woman’s Club, which are both volunteer service organizations dedicated to the educational, social and civic progress in Charlotte and throughout the state.

Dr. Lori Pappert is married to Dr. Bobby Pappert, who is also a dentist practicing in Charlotte. Their family includes a standard poodle (Jackie) a green-wing macaw (Salsa), and a Portuguese Waterdog (Bridger). They enjoy fly fishing, attending sporting events (especially hockey), travel and spending time with friends.

Dr. William Linger, DDS, MAGD

Dr. Linger completed his undergraduate and dental education at West Virginia University, graduating from the School of Dentistry in 1996, where he received the William Reed Butler Scholarship for excellence in research. As a second generation dentist, Dr. Linger feels a calling and has a true passion for what he does.

Few dentists have achieved the level of training that Dr. Linger has as a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Less than 1 percent of dentists have achieved this designation. It represents training across the broad range of dentistry from surgery to cosmetics. He uses this extensive training and experience to treat even the most challenging dental situations, by performing all treatment in the same office.

Dr. Linger has been recognized for skill in the surgery and restoration of dental implants as a Fellow of the International Congress for Oral Implantology, one of the highest international designations for the most life changing treatment that dentistry offers.

Dr. Linger has studied with some of the world’s leaders in cosmetic dentistry including the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. With extensive experience with veneers, bonding and esthetic reconstruction, he has been able to help his patients achieve dramatic results with smile makeovers.

Your visit to the dentist should be a comfortable experience. Dr. Linger has developed special techniques in sedation dentistry for the fearful patient. He believes in helping fearful patients accomplish their goal of being healthy. He serves as a mentor for other dentists through the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

Dentistry is as much of an art as a science. Dr. Linger is an artist in both his professional and personal life. An avid musician, he plays guitar, piano, and several other instruments. He also enjoys mountain biking, skiing, golf and cooking. He and wife Sabrina have two daughters.

Dr. Robert Penny

Dr. Penny has enjoyed treating patients with periodontal disease since 1977. Periodontitis is the most common cause of adult tooth loss. “I felt that specializing in treatment of periodontal disease was the best way to help people keep their teeth.” Dr. Penny has provided treatment of Periodontal Disease at the office of Dr. Steiner, Dr. Pappert and Dr. Linger for over 20 years. In 1989, Dr. Penny began Dental Implant Therapy and Regeneration of Jaw Bone to enhance tooth replacement. His specialty training in Periodontics complimented Dental Implant Therapy and bone regeneration of the jaw making this treatment a natural extension of Periodontal treatment and preserving the teeth.

Personal Interests:

Water Sports, walking, reading, Presbyterian Church and church choir and family and friends. Dr. Penny is also a competitive marksman, competing in events all over the southeast.
